This is beautiful video footage. One for the archives! How different things are nowadays. I loved all the old trains and the sounds etc.. everything about them. even the incandescent lights

I'm trying to spot any Leyland National busses. These were the first orange busses, introduced in 1975 along with the orange Z1 trams, both being big news of the time & both now out of service.

I'm assuming that the Wimbledon to Edgware Road route, was severely disrupted or weekend engineering works going on and so it was diverted to go to either Richmond or Ealing Broadway, hence why it was serving at Barons Court. It did serve other parts of the District Line when needed but on rare occasions.

Damn, it literally was as good as i remember my childhood. What a beautiful and safe place this once was.

I love this little summary and comparison to what went before (I love the music choice too). Seeing the old 80s building against your shots of the new one really emphasises how dated the previous one was.

I remember them in the carriage sidings at Hitchen on a Sunday, of course, then in faded BR maroon. N2-hauled they would come up into the western suburban platform at the Cross off the Widened Lines.

Back in the day when Metropolitan line ran all stations, fast and semi-fast services all day, everyday.

It also ran on the East London line in 4 car formation (now part of Overground) but did its main job on the Metropolitan Line. Miss the A Stock.

I was looking for this kind of video of my city. I was a baby at that time but I remember taking these buses to go to school. But I'm pretty sure they were in service until 2005 (january/february) especially lines 52 and 53 (later remplaced by lines 2 and 3)

I don't know if anyone is still in this comment section, but I'm close to where most of these buses terminate and go through. Route 150 operated by Arriva actually still has the branding on most of their AD400s! Unfortunately, all the others are gone. However, if you look closely at most of the buses that used to have it, you will see the old cut outs from the colours on the ones for the 462 and 167, both operated by stagecoach. Most of the previous branded ones are SN17 M(X)(X).) These can also be seen from the 275 bus routes. The buses used for that are now used for route 257 and some of the pink branding at the top can be seen on it when on route 257 (LX12 DDV I'm pretty sure). The others no longer have it. I do wonder why route 150 still has the full branding when others got pulled completely.

Have so many fond memories of visiting Sentosa while growing up in Singapore in the '90s. I seem to remember there being an Andersen's of Denmark ice cream stall at the old ferry terminal.

That bleak foggy 90s atmosphere is absolutely fantastic
